R I Arlington Survey Entry Page |
Welcome to the Survey Entry Page. All surveys start here. For all the surveys, you will be asked for some identifying information for each survey. I capture that information once and then allow you to use a ID# field to link any/all of your subsequent entries to your name, organization, etc. Then you may participate in any of the surveys.

If you participated in prior RIA Surveys at this site since 2002, you've already been given an Institution ID#. Click here for the full list and get your ID# to proceed to the current survey or any of the prior surveys. (Note that "Carnegie Code" for Educational Institutions has been added to the ID information. Please send me an e-mail if yours is missing or incorrect. Thanks!)
If this is your first submission, click here to enter info to identify your institution and yourself. Then, click here to get your institution ID#; use this for entry in the surveys below.

STAFFING & SALARY SURVEY: Summer 2003 - What levels of staffing and salary are in place in your A/S shop?
STAFF & SALARY ENTRY: This Survey is done in 3 parts: 1) Institution Comparison Data, 2) Supervisor Data, and 3) Staff Data - all quite similar to the survey that I did in 2000. You may wish to visit the 3 survey pages to gather all the data before entry. Please, It will be most valuable if you submit information in all three sections.
As with all current surveys, get or create your institution ID# (in the section above). Then proceed to enter the data for your Institution in the sections below:
| Step 1 - Institution Comparison Data - Totals for your institution & Adv/Svcs; what areas and how many people do you serve? | |
| Step 2 - Supervisor Position & Salary Data - Titles, salary & responsibilities for the Senior/Lead person in Adv/Svcs as well as up to six other managers/supervisors. (NOTE: For a small office of 1-7 staff, where individuals have multiple responsibilities and there is only one supervisor, you might just use this form and skip the staff form below. I'll adjust the data in salary & staffing summaries.) | |
| Step 3 - Staff Position & Salary Data - Numbers of staff and their salary ranges by functional area. |
Once you have submitted your entry, view the initial detailed responses as you go. I'll add results pages as people submit their data.
NOTE: As with all prior salary surveys, individual institution's salary information will be kept confidential. Position data will be individually viewable; salaries will be summarized after a number of organizations have provided their data.
Please also consider participating in the prior surveys below.

I am still accepting data and analyzing it periodically for the surveys below covering:
| Basic Data - What Hardware & Software are you Using? | |
| "Extra's" - What technologies are you using to complement your basic system? | |
| Web Results - What successes have you enjoyed using the Internet? |
Results and analyses from these surveys are found here.
BASIC SURVEY: (Spring 2002) What System are you Using?
Based on interest expressed to date, Hardware & Software was the most requested topic for the Surveys. If you'd like to submit data about your hardware & software for this survey, first make sure that you have an ID record and then enter your data. Click here to enter the Basic System Data for your Institution. View the "raw data" responses with here.
EXTRA'S SURVEY: (Summer 2002) What are some of the "Extra's" supplementing your System?
This survey captures information on "Extras" -- that is, interfaces, planning giving and phonathon systems, research and directory services, Web usage, credit card & special gift processing technologies, PDA's, etc.
"EXTRA'S ENTRY: Click here to enter the "Extra's" Data for your Institution and participate in the current survey. Given the extent of this data, it may be helpful to print out the survey page to pull all the data together before entry. Once you have submitted your entry, view the initial detailed responses here.
WEB RESULTS: (Fall 2002) What benefits & successes have you had using the Internet in Advancement?
The July/August 2002 Survey identified that many are using the Web/Internet in their development efforts. Based on this input, I wanted to gather some information about your successes/progress with using the Internet. The April 2002 CASE Currents reports that "online gifts amount to less than 1 percent of total fund raising at most institutions." Are you in that range or doing better/worse? How else are you using the 'Net? (Much of the data in the CASE article came from the excellent work of Mike Westfall of Virginia Tech in 2001. Click here to access/download his data.)
WEB RESULTS ENTRY: This survey captures information on "Web Results" -- that is, how are you using the web and what are your results for fund-raising, events & registration, membership, communications, etc? Click here to enter the "Web Results" Data for your Institution and participate in the this survey. Once you have submitted your entry, view the initial detailed responses here.

NOTE: For the time being I have chosen not to set this up as a secured site with Login ID and Password so that people could update/correct their own data. But I wanted it secure enough so that random people don't surf by the site and make changes to other peoples data. If you've created a duplicate ID record or have entered data that you'd like me to change/correct, please just drop me an e-mail with the correction. I'll update your record as quickly as possible.
