Mike Westfall, Director of Annual Giving at Virginia Tech did two surveys
last year about fund-raising on the Internet and on-line giving.
The surveys and files are described below. To access/download the files,
"right-click" on the links below and then select
Save Link as... (Netscape) or Save Target as... (MS
Internet Explorer) from the pop-up window. This will allow you to bring these files
to your own machine for greater review and evaluation.
 | A review of Web-sites from 30 research universities, 20+ land grant institutions and 10 liberal arts colleges. He evaluated the sites for their ease of getting to the giving pages, for making the case for a gift and the ease of making the gift. There are two files with this data: an Excel spreadsheet with his findings and a Word document with notes and observations. |
| A detailed survey of 30 of the largest, most prestigious state and private universities about their efforts to build & maintain their site and all of the different on-line activities at the site. There is one Excel spreadsheet with this data. |
